Accessing the Map
- The Map can be accessed either via the Dashboard view or the dedicated Map link on the top menu.
- Information within one area of BigChange is shared with all others, ensuring that changes in one area will immediately be updated everywhere, simultaneously. This seamless integration is subject to the permissions or restrictions set by your company's system administrator.

View jobs on the map
Once you have accessed the map, you will need to apply the following settings to view the jobs.
- Select the eye icon.
- Select the Jobs checkbox.
- A new menu will appear where you can select the following filters:
- From and to date range
- Resource (search field)
- Job Type (dropdown list)
- Category (dropdown list)
- Show unscheduled jobs (checkbox)
- Show completed jobs (checkbox)
- Labels (dropdown list)
- Grouped icons (checkbox)
Job filters explained
From and To Date Range
You can filter your date range using any of the following options:
- Planned Date: The date the job is scheduled for.
- Actual Date: The date the job was actually completed.
- Creation Date: The date the job was created in the system.
- Due Date: If there is a due date (constraint), this will be the job's due date.
The maximum date range to view jobs on map is 2 months apart.
Resource (search field)
To view the jobs of a single resource on the map, start typing the resource's name in the Resource search field and then select the desired resource. This will display only that specific resource's jobs on the map.
Job Type (drop down list)
To view specific job types on the map, use the multi-select dropdown list.
Category (drop down list)
To view specific job categories on the map, use the multi-select dropdown list.
Show unschedules jobs (tick box)
By selecting 'Show Unscheduled Jobs', the map will display these jobs with their respective coloured flags.

By selecting 'Show Completed Jobs' the map will display either a green flag for completed jobs or a red flag for jobs that are not complete.

Labels (drop down list)
You have several options for adding the following labels next to the jobs on the map:
- Contact (example shown below)
- Resource
- Time
- Job Type
- Custom Field (this refers to the first custom field on the jobs)
Grouped icons (tick box)
By ticking the 'Grouped' checkbox, the system will group the jobs together that are near each other on the map and when you zoom in the individual jobs will appear.
Job details popup explained
Once you have filtered the map to display the jobs you need, you can view the details of a specific job by right-clicking on its flag. This will bring up the job details menu.
In this menu, you can quickly see:
- Contact
- Resource
- Date
- Job Type
- Reference
- Activity
You also have additional options, including:
- View Job
- Create Contact Here
- Nearest Resource
- What's Nearby?
- Who Was Here?
- Add to Route Planner
- Street View
View job
By selecting this option, you can open the job details directly from the map.
Create contact here
By selecting a point on the map and right-clicking, you can choose this option to create a Contact directly from this screen, which will automatically upload to the CRM.
Nearest resource
This option displays a list of other resources ordered by their proximity to the selected location. An accompanying filter allows you to see which of these resources have moved within 'x' hours for more accurate results.
What's nearby?
Offers a snapshot of local businesses and points of interest.
Who was here?
Shows which other resources were in the vicinity.
Add to route planner
Select a point on the map to add it to the journey plan. It will then appear in the side menu with driving directions.
Street view
Provides a visual street view of the current location or destination using Google Earth.
