Hardware - Privacy Buttons

BigChange offers an additional privacy button that can be installed alongside vehicle trackers. This feature allows employees to switch between private tracking data and business tracking data that should be shown on your map, ensuring data protection rights are maintained.

Understanding of Privacy Buttons

• Vehicle trackers have a physical private button connected to the hardwired tracker.
• The button can turn private mode on or off, depending on its configuration.
• A red LED light will indicate when Private mode is enabled.
• After the engine switches off, the tracker returns to its default setting.

Private Button Configurations

There are two configurations for the functionality of privacy buttons:

1. Business with Private: Every journey begins tracked. Once the button is pressed, the tracker enters private mode.
2. Private with Business: Every journey begins in private mode. Once the button is pressed, the vehicle is tracked.

• These configurations can be swapped at any point after installation by contacting our Support team.

Map Display

• When the privacy button is enabled within the vehicle, all tracking data will not be shown on your map until it is turned off. Private mileage is still recorded via the database however it is not visible in the front end on the map.

• If tracking data from a private journey is required, it can be provided with full approval from a Director.
