Set Time Constraints for Jobs

Setting up time constraints for jobs in BigChange ensures that specific job types adhere to predefined scheduling rules. This guide will walk you through the process of setting up these constraints in the back office and how to view unscheduled jobs with constraints.

Navigating to Job Type Settings

To set up a time constraint for a job, you must first configure some setting in Admin settings against your job types.

Steps to Access Job Type Settings

  • Select the Profile icon in the top menu.
  • Navigate to Admin Settings.
  • In the side menu, select Schedule.
  • Select Job Types.

Adding a Time Constraint

  • Select the specific Job Type you wish to add a constraint to.
  • Navigate to the Constraints tab.
  • Select Time (icon)
  • Enter the desired time constraints for the job type.
  • Save your changes.

Editing an Existing Time Constraint

Please note that you cannot edit an existing time constraint. To make changes, you must delete the current time constraint and create a new one.

  • Select the Job Type with the existing constraint.
  • Navigate to the Constraints tab.
  1. Select Time contraint already set
  2. Select the delete (icon).
  3. Select Time (icon)

  • Enter the desired time constraints for the job type.
  • Save your changes.

 

Viewing Unscheduled Jobs with Constraints

If a job remains unscheduled and there is a constraint against it, you can view it in the side menu.

Steps to View Unscheduled Jobs

  • Navigate to the schedule.
  • Side menu select UNSCHEDULED JOBS.
  • Identify jobs with constraints from the list (these will have either an amber or red icon).

Red clock - indicates that this job is overdue and has exceeded the time constraints applied to it.

 

Orange text below the job details, alerts you to the overdue time constraint deadline.

Orange clock - indicates that this job should be scheduled as soon as possible, as it is nearing its time constraint deadline.
