Importing information is a quick and easy method of moving data from one place to another, but it can sometimes be challenging to ensure everything has worked as expected or to understand what to do if something has gone wrong.
To help with this, BigChange has developed an Import Hub, a central place where you can perform imports, download templates, and filter by stage or success.
Navigating to the Import Hub
- Navigate to: [Top menu] Account setting (icon) → Settings → [side menu] Forms → Imports
- Alternatively, select it from the Quick links menu.
Using Imports
Filter Options
You will see that there are several filter options that allow you to find exactly the information you are looking for against every import.
Performing an ImportTo perform an import, follow these steps:
- Go to your selection and select'Download template.'
- The template download provides a helpful guide to the information required for a successful import. Note that custom fields are not included in the template.
- Or Import template.
Preparing the Template
- Once the template has been downloaded, open it and press the 'Enable Editing' button.
- Hover over each column to see whether its data is required, optional, or conditional for the import.
- Familiarise yourself with the requirements for each column.
- Delete the line of sample data and add your own data.
Importing the Data
- When your data is ready to import, select the relevant Import button.
- Choose a blueprint if desired.
- Select either 'Import file' if you are confident that all of the data is correct, or 'Validate data only' if you would like to test that the data is in the correct format prior to importing it.
- Select your file to begin.
Validation and Import Messages
- If you have selected 'Validate Data only,' you will see a validation message.
- If you have selected 'Import file,' you will see an import message and receive an email summary of the import.
- If you try to upload a file that has already been imported, a warning notification will appear to prevent accidental duplication.
Viewing Import Results
You will be able to see the results of imports clearly displayed within the hub, allowing you to rectify any errors that have been identified.

Job Import/Export, SLA & Recurrence Patterns
When users create a blueprint for jobs they can include the relevant fields for recurrence patterns and SLAs.
When importing, users can manually map a column to match SLAs.
