When creating a custom field, consider whether the field needs to be mandatory, and if a response is required. Also, decide if this field needs to be visible and/or editable for device users. By using the "Mandatory" and "On devices" check boxes, you can configure these settings.
Deleteing a custom field
Deleting a custom field in BigChange is a permanent action and cannot be undone. All the data associated with that field will be lost. Therefore, it's crucial to double-check and confirm that the data in the field is no longer required before proceeding with deletion.
The system will provide an on-screen warning asking are 'Are you sure you want to delete this custom field?' before the deletion process is completed to remind you of this.
Copying Custom Fields to a Different Note Type
You can copy the custom fields you've created to a different note type.
Navigate to: Profile (icon)→ Admin Settings → Contacts & notes → Notes custom fields → Copy List To. Select the note type you wish to copy the custom field list to.
Once you have selected the note type that you wish to copy the Custom Field list to, there will be a warning message asking if you wish to continue:
Should you copy the custom fields from one group to another, any pre-existing custom fields in the group you are copy the fields to, will be deleted and replaced.
Before you complete the copying of custom fields, you will receive an on-screen warning reminding you of this.
The Custom Fields will display as fields at the bottom of the Note, whenever the relevant Note Type is selected.
