In this article, we will guide you through setting up worksheets and resolving the orange banner anomaly that appears across the top of a Worksheet in BigChange. This issue typically arises when there is a discrepancy in the mandatory answers required at different stages of the Worksheet.
Before you can start adding any questions to your worksheet you need to configure a few settings.
- Name - Worksheet name
- Group - Add your worksheet to a group should you wish.
- Completion time for back office - These are worksheet behaviours for your web users using the BigChange website.
- N/A - Not able to edit the worksheet.
- At any time - Allows web users the ability to edit and change answers at any time without the job cycle. Web users can edit worksheet answers after the resource has filled them in. For example to correct spelling etc.

- Before scheduling - This will allow web users to fill in questions before scheduling the job.

- Before starting the job - Resources to fill in worksheet before they start the job. For example, this maybe a risk assesment worksheet that they need to fill in before they can start work.

- After completing the job - Resources will only be able to fill in the worksheet once the job is complete.
- Completion time on booking site - If you use the booking site and have customers create their own jobs, you can add worksheets just applicable for them on booking site to fill in job details etc.
- N/A. - Not able to edit the worksheet -
- Before scheduling -
- Before sending -
- After job completion -
- Job card header for "Answer" - This allows you to change the wording on the standard job card. See example below.
- Job card header for "Notes" - This allows you to change the wording on the standard job card. See example below.

Understanding the Orange Banner Anomaly
Identifying the Issue
- The orange banner appears when there is an anomaly in your Worksheet.
- This anomaly occurs when you require mandatory answers at a stage where there are no mandatory questions.
- The banner message reads: "You have defined phases that require mandatory answers to work but there isn't any question with mandatory answer."
Completion Time Settings
- The anomaly can be based on the selection of the completion time for any of the following:
- Completion time for back office
- Completion time for resource
- Completion time for booking site
Scheduled Time Anomalies
- The issue arises when the time scheduled for the Worksheet to take place occurs prior to the job, such as:
- Before driving to the job
- Before starting the job
- Before completing the job
- Additionally, there are no mandatory questions to answer at these stages.
Resolving the Orange Banner Anomaly
Reviewing Worksheet Settings
-
- Go to Account settings > Settings > Schedule > Worksheets > Add - Edit.
- Review the completion time settings for back office, resource, and booking site.
Adding Mandatory Questions
- Ensure that there are mandatory questions at each stage where mandatory answers are required.
- To add mandatory questions:
- Select the appropriate stage (e.g., Before driving to the job).
- Add the necessary questions and mark them as mandatory.
Verifying Changes
- After making the necessary changes, verify that the orange banner no longer appears.
- Ensure that all stages with mandatory answers have corresponding mandatory questions.
Conclusion
By following the steps outlined in this article, you can resolve the orange banner anomaly in your BigChange Worksheets.
