Resource Custom Fields

This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to create and apply Resource custom fields in BigChange. Custom fields are a valuable tool for storing essential information related to your resource groups. This feature allows for better organisation and efficient management of resources.

Navigating to Resource Custom Fields

To create a custom field, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Profile icon.
  2. Select Admin settings.
  3. From the side menu, choose Resources.
  4. Click on Resource Custom Fields.

Creating a Custom Field

After navigating to Resource Custom Fields:

  1. Click on Resource Group to select the group from the dropdown menu.
  2. Click on Add. This will open a popup menu.
  3. Populate the fields as desired and click Ok to save.

Copying Custom Fields to Other Groups

If you want to apply the custom field to other groups:

  1. Click on Copy list to... A new popup will open.

Should you copy the custom fields from one group to another, any pre-existing custom fields in the group you are copy the fields to, will be deleted and replaced. 

Before you complete the copying of custom fields, you will receive an on-screen warning reminding you of this.

Deleting a custom field

Deleting a custom field in BigChange is a permanent action and cannot be undone. All the data associated with that field will be lost. Therefore, it's crucial to double-check and confirm that the data in the field is no longer required before proceeding with deletion. 

The system will provide an on-screen warning asking are 'Are you sure you want to delete this custom field?' before the deletion process is completed to remind you of this.

 

 

Viewing Custom Fields on a Resource's Card

To view the custom fields:

  1. Open a Resource's card by navigating to Fleet & Resources.
  2. From the side menu, select Resources and then choose the desired resource.
  3. The Custom Fields that you created will be displayed at the bottom of the form.
