  • Updated

This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to set up a territory in BigChange. Understanding how to create and manage territories is crucial for businesses to effectively monitor their resources and vehicles.

Navigating to the Territories Management

To create a territory, navigate to [Top Menu] MapView Icon → [menu] Territories Manage.

Creating a New Territory

You can now create an entirely new territory, which is specific to your business.

  • Select the Create Icon

  • Using the geofence drawing tool, draw an area on the map and then give it a name and colour, then select save.

Importing Preset Territories

Alternatively, you can select ‘Import’ to use preset ‘Territories in UK’.

Selecting this option will give you the option for:

  • Miscellaneous
  • Postcode areas (2 digits)
  • Postcode districts (4 digits)

The Miscellaneous section includes Toll Roads (M6 North and South, Humber Bridge, Dartford Crossing) and any Congestion charge zones.

Setting Up Alerts for Territories

You can also create Alerts that notify you when a resource or vehicle enters or exits a territory.

For example, you can easily create an Alert that notifies you when your vehicle enters the London Congestion Charge area during its hours of operation. For further information on how to do this, please view the dedicated Alerts article.

Setting up a territory in BigChange is a process that can greatly enhance your business's resource and vehicle management. By creating custom territories and setting up alerts, you can ensure that you are always informed about the movements of your resources and vehicles.
