Adding Headers and Footers to Email Templates

Personalising your emails with your own details and logos can enhance your brand's professional appearance. This guide will walk you through the steps to add headers and footers to your email templates in BigChange.

  • Navigate to [Top menu] Account Settings > Settings > [Side menu] ACCOUNT > Templates.

Adding Headers and Footers

  • Select "Click to edit" to begin customising your email template.

  • You can now add text, tables, images, etc., as required.

Adding a Logo to the Header

  • To add a logo, copy and paste the image URL via the pictures option.
  • If you are unsure of your logo URL, navigate to: [Top menu] Account Settings (icon) → Settings → [Quick Links menu] General Account Settings.
  • Under Account details you will see URL of your logo. Simply copy and paste the URL into your header in Templates.

Saving and Applying the Template

  • Once you have added everything you would like in this section of your template, select "Save and close."
  • Reopen the template and attribute a Usage(s) to it so that it is easily applied and discoverable:
    1. Usage tab
    2. Add
    3. Default format: e.g., Email
    4. Type: e.g., Job confirmation
    5. Job Type: All job types or a single job type.
    6. Save
    7. Close

Previewing Your Template

  1. Select the template in the list view.
  2. Select "Preview" to download a copy that will appear on your screen.

  • Open the downloaded file to check that you are happy with it.

The location of the download varies depending upon the browser you are using.

Creating a Basic Template

Hint

Consider creating a basic email footer template that includes your logo and contact details. Save this as your email footer template. By duplicating this template for new emails, you can ensure consistency across all communications within BigChange and save time by not having to design each email from scratch.

  1. Select the email template you would like to duplicate from the list view.
  2. Select "Duplicate" each time you create a new template to ensure the header and footer are always populated without having to repeat this process.
