Adding Sub-Template for Actual vs Planned Stock Movements

In this article, we will guide you through the process of adding a sub-template in BigChange to differentiate between 'planned job stock' and 'actual job stock movements'.

This new feature ensures that stock and equipment keywords populate correctly when items are used on-site and left at a location.

Definition of Planned Stock

  • Planned stock refers to the stock items that are allowcated and scheduled to be used for a specific job or project.
  • It includes all materials, equipment, and tools that are allocated in advance to ensure they are available when needed.
  • These items need to be brought to the job and either left or brought back.

 Definition of Actual Stock

  • Actual stock refers to the stock items that have been physically used or moved during a job or project.
  • It includes all materials, equipment, and tools that have been consumed or relocated on-site.
  • These items will have be move/used on a job by the resource using the app. This records a stock movement in BigChange.

Navigating to Templates

  • Select Account setting the top menu.
  • Select Settings.
  • In the Account side menu, select Templates.

Adding or Editing a Template

  • Select an existing template to edit or add a new one.
  • In the 'Edit template' pop-up, select 'Insert keyword'.
  • Navigate to the Jobs tab. Here you will see all the keywords you can select to do with Actual and Planned stock movements.

  • Once you have build your parent and sub template using the above keywords.
  • Navigate to the Miscellaneous section, select 'Sub template'.

Choosing Sub-Template Options

  • The sub-template options will now allow you to choose between 'planned job stock' or 'actual job stock movements'.
  • Select the appropriate option based on your requirements.
