Easy Access to Stock Custom Fields

It is now possible to access (and edit) stock custom fields (for serialized items) when viewing stock on a device.

Where custom fields have been set-up in the back office for stock categories, a new 'custom fields' button is now displayed when viewing stock items on a device:


Tapping this button will show a new page, containing the stock's custom fields and content:


In order to be able to view and/or edit the stock custom fields, the correct settings must first have been ticked in the back office for the particular stock category.

To set-up custom field viewing/editing ability on devices, follow the below steps:

  1. Once logged into the back office, navigate to [Top menu] Profile (icon)Admin Settings.
  2. From the 'Stock & Equipment' side menu, click on 'Stock item custom fields'.
  3. Choose the product category you wish to edit from the drop-down list.
  4. This will display a list of current custom fields for that category. Click to edit the one you wish to become visible/editable on devices, and its pop-up will appear. Use the 'On devices' tick boxes to choose whether the field is viewable and/or editable by resources. Click Ok.

You may need to refresh your device before the new settings become visible.

Deleteing a custom field

Deleting a custom field in BigChange is a permanent action and cannot be undone. All the data associated with that field will be lost. Therefore, it's crucial to double-check and confirm that the data in the field is no longer required before proceeding with deletion. 

The system will provide an on-screen warning asking are 'Are you sure you want to delete this custom field?' before the deletion process is completed to remind you of this.
