Identifying and Locating Your IP Addresses

When you access the Whitelisted IP Addresses section, you'll see a detailed list that helps you identify and locate your IP addresses. To add more IP addresses to the whitelist, select the Add button and enter the necessary details.

If you used the Use my current IP address feature while whitelisting, the system automatically detects the IP address you are using to connect and populates the IP address field for you.

If you're on a home network, you probably don't have a static IP address (one that doesn't change) unless you've specifically arranged this with your internet service provider. Most home users have a dynamic IP address, which can change over time. This means that whitelisting these IP addresses might stop working when the IP address changes. Conversely, most office networks use a static IP address, (stays the same). Therefore, whitelisting these IP addresses will remain effective unless they are manually changed.

Hint

To ensure your whitelisting is working, we recommend checking your current IP address by searching "My IP" on an internet browser (e.g. Google, Bing etc). Compare the IPv4 address displayed with the IP addresses you have entered into BigChange. If none of the whitelisted IP addresses match your current IPv4 address, this will be why whitelisting isn't working as expected.

Conclusion

Managing your whitelisted IP addresses is a simple process in BigChange. By following the steps outlined in this article, you can easily locate and identify your IP addresses, ensuring the security of your software. Always remember to regularly check and update your whitelisted IP addresses to maintain the integrity of your system.
